María José ‘Majo’ Durán González is a Bio Fellow at Fifty Years.
Majo is passionate about translating scientific discoveries from the bench to the benefit of all. At Fifty Years, she focuses on fostering community among bio founders and meeting everyone, everywhere, all at once.
Majo’s urgency to accelerate synbio research began when she was an undergrad student and iGEM medalist. She joined Minus Coffee as the second member and helped concoct the first beanless coffee product from her living room.
Now back at the bench, she’s engineering better surface receptors for immuno-therapies at Roybal Lab @ UCSF.
When she is not working, you might catch her tap dancing! Tan Tararantan Tan Tan.
